A song I wrote from three things: my lonely self, late crooner Gerald Levert and for the month of June which is Black Music Month.

1- I've been around a lot of different

places, seen so many faces

Watchin' people holdin'

hands, kissin each other

sayin their "I love yous"

And it's just me with no one

but the blues

Everybody's so happy, happy

they found somebody

Well I'm tired of everyone being happy

but me

Thinkin' about when will love

come to me

I need someone to...

Chorus 2x- Show me (show me love)

Show me (show me life)

Show me (happiness)

Show me (what's it like to love someone)

Somebody show me what love is

2-Been on this path for

a long, long time

Tellin myself everything will be fine

More I say it, more it reminds me how

I'm so lonely

Just got a wake call

I can't let this be

Gotta find someone who'll love me

for me

Don't wanna be alone for another day

Can't go on like this need to find another way

Chorus repeat 2x

Discussion

Love it, my fav so far. When I am awake I will tell all about it.

good night

This critique applies to the 1st draft of this work.

I liked reading through this, but I have to say it's so hard for me to look at lyrics without the framework of the music behind them...I could feel the sentiment though, the need to have someone to love and be loved by...Good stuff..

Thank you both! This song came from my own personal expierience and to celebrate June for Black Music Month and the late r&b sensation Gerald Levert.
