I think about 90% of the people on here want to get published, so I feel you there. You might want to talk to Ben Jacobson, since he's had quite a few stories that were on this site published in magazines. "on the Internet" is a vague term, and usually if you explain that it was on a critiquing site and not available to the general public, I think publishers will understand. It would be like rejecting a book because it was shown to an in-person writing circle of 30 people, right?

You can publish them here but set them as private and allow only certain users to view them.

I figure my work'll be in a completely different form by the time I'm done. Plus, you can restrict it to Scrib members only, so it's not available to the entire internet. :]

Yup...the people here are pretty mature and most seem to know what they're talking about. Then you get hacks like me messing it up. ;P
