and i just bought another sagan book: the varieties of scientific experience. i have 3 other books, dragons and what not

thanks! that'll get me going for the year. i always love to make lists of authors that i need to experience. i'll try anything once
Hello Mr. Nolta. i was wondering if you knew any good books to suggest for me, namely ones that are in the vein of philosophy and science? intellectual fiction, if you will? i don't know, i just need new authors
Brandon -- in my opinion, Shades of Grey is Fforde's best yet. By a long shot.
And if you haven't read any of Eoin Colfer's standalones (Airman, The Wish List, etc), you're missing out.
I love The Legacy of Heorot, it's great I keep finding books I love that no one else ever seems to have heard of. this book is sitting at the head of my bed and I read it when I need something "good" to read. It's one of my "go to" books!
Yes the Book of Sorrows- I liked it as well
Apologies for the double posting on your "Longevity" blog.

I am working out the formating of comments, critiques, & posting.

Thanks for the great read!
Feels strange to become a fan of someone without any posted work but you cite Farscape, BSG and Hitchhikers Guide so you may consider me a fan.
Hi:

As a poet I connected with your piece. Poetry is written for the sake of writing not for recognition, all though, it would be nice.

Thanks for putting into prose what I have thought about in poetic terms.

whatever happened to guest blogs?

don't critique my work if you're busy i already have ben j and stewart f doing it.
HEY! have you ever given a critique? i'm wondering, perhaps, oh maybe, just maybe, if you might take a look at my first chapter of 'misplaced'? perhaps?

About Brandon

Occupation: Computer professional, freelance editor, content developer and writer
About Me: What's to tell? I'm a writer; I'd make it all up anyway.
Interests: Lots.
Publications: Hmmm...well, there's quite a few. I've published poetry, short stories, articles, reviews, papers, essays and have written four book-length study guides. That's just the stuff I got paid for; throw in a master's thesis of short stories and my recently completed first novel (thanks, NaNoWriMo), and there's enough verbiage to choke a herd of horses.
Favorite Books: Watchmen, Odd Thomas, The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, The Legacy of Heorot, Inferno, Salem's Lot, Strange Wine, virtually anything by Joe R. Lansdale, The Zombie Survival Guide
Favorite Movies: Hot Fuzz, Batman Begins, Desperado, The Dark Knight, The Incredibles, The 13th Warrior, Shaun of the Dead, Unforgiven, The Prestige, True Romance, Pulp Fiction
Favorite TV Shows: Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, House, Supernatural, The Shield, Farscape...picking up a theme here?
Favorite Quotes: "Chance favors only the prepared mind." - Louis Pasteur

"No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people." - H.L. Mencken

"Your Highness, I have no need of this hypothesis." - Pierre Laplace (when asked why his latest treatise made no mention of God)
Loves: Where do I begin?
Hates: Where do I stop?
