I think lyrics are definitely a form of poetry. They're just poetry put to music. Since they have to mesh up with the music, there are usually certain types of rhythm and metre that work best. They're definitely closely related, though.

Balk is a fine word, I just don't think it worked in that situation. there's a difference between a reader wanting to know more (I did) and being confused (though I wasn't, really). If it's too confusing, they'll just stop reading. Good luck with the revision process!

I actually came up with it myself by combining the different stories of the two creatures. Then I tried to write it like a Mythic Mutual of Omaha. I don't know if that was the right decision.

Thanks for reading Fireborn. The Green dragon died because dragon's have to eat salamanders in order to breath fire. Otherwise it destroys their throats. You're right that's very hard to get from the story right now and it's also kind of the point, so I'm really in trouble. Thank you for this valuable info.
