Lyrics for a concept album I've been working on. It focuses on revolution and the people in them. The differing view points of those involved and the effect it has on them. Each paragraph is "theoretically" an individual song on the album. All critiques welcome =)

Obedience, unbridled loyalty to the last drop, taking death over damnation and community as cult, fear for the audience, fear for ourselves, take our fear from our souls, rip this thorn from our side and send us to our graves, never have we seen this before our lives held in my hand, the hand clenches, the sand falls as we follow and our health is devoured by home, forever our six feet stands in the forefront of our lives...(Following blindly that which is presented to us and where it often leads us)
Is this game for real? How and why are you here? I've never asked you for much but now you give me all I need? Save it for a dire time. I will not yield to you nor will I falter in this wind. Such a wind it is, bending the bark and breaking the will. My hide is torn from the sand and blisters in this heat. Your heart overbearing and mine underwhelmed, our state has no affairs and will never birth what we require. Still we stand idle coughing up the fuel in our throat when we can burn away the phlegm. This condition has no cure but the mirror...(Acknowledging the gifts given and the problem it does not solve)
The final line has been stepped across, NO, it seems you have missed the line behind, increasing back pedaling into the bayonet line. Hold the position, do not let the forces push us back, PUSH, PUSH, stand firm watch brothers at your side drop at your side. Breath the cyanide, but hold the belief that this line will last. Dream of days in the sun, a Sunday at mass fondling the priest, a broken household, a white line on the table. Stand fast for those ideals we hold close to our hearts...MY heart is exploding under the pressure of this battle, fatigue is wearing my mind, I can't fight this for much longer, I will be the faulty link that breaks this chain...(Fighting the unwanted fight for the ideals you do not hold)
End this NOW, underneath this burial mound I lie to scream to a generation of deaf mimes. You lie listless, my burning pyre ashes in the wind, these carbon molecules pass through the air. My infectious particle can take you away, can take it all away, just believe in this dream with me. Blind to ambition we need disaster to see our desire, until your disaster comes believe with me. Believe in me, just believe that someday the graves we dance on will not be our own. The chain was flawed since independence, made from links of those before us, oxygen we breathe leaves detritus, the leaves breed decay and this rust spreads every day. Follow me into this new galaxy and help me weave the starry sky of tomorrow...(Recognition of the need for change and the requirement of ruin)
Of flames and fury, my revolutionaries hear me! Time has run its course, ignorance has forced the realization of bliss, our era is here! The herald spoke of wisdom and compassion but we must now use FORCE. Oppression has done its toll and tainted our existence, the wyrms who watch above have held their thumbs down to us, since the beginning. Stand on your own with me, think on your own with me, live my dreams for me. FIGHT. FOR. ME. (The zealous new leader reveals himself and the plan of revolution and ruin)
Us, is the definition we will use, this nation is ours to abuse. WORK, raise the towers, PRAISE, every last man laid to waste. Let history be written from this new perspective and forever the past be forgot. All will be appeased and

I would love to see these broken down into lyrical format and reposted for each song. I think the overall idea of planning out a CD to tell a story of a revolutionary is a great one, one I could definately get behind. This seems like the kind of music I listen to (The Mars Volta especially), and anything on that level would be great. Music that is about the art and not about the volume is a refreshing change these days. Reading this makes me think of a part of a book I read recently (even though the book is not recent at all) which describes a revolution of all Earth governments taken on by two kids. The description is amazing and could be insightful to the process of fleshing these out. The book is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.
I do not want to critique these in their current format. I will wait for the individuals in lyrical/poetic form. If you want to simply know what people think of the idea: it is a good one, run with it.

Derek Buhr, It seems that everything you have wrote greatly reminds me of some rock songs that I sometimes listen to that have little amounts of vulgar within them but are like heavy metal. Maybe you ought to become a songwriter one day with the things that you have written in this song (and/or work). This had really gained some interest inside of me with what was in the very first two paragarphs of this. I hope that you have great amounts of fans coming to your songs, that is if you want to become a songwriter composer or a singer. I believe in the potential that you have inside of you could make even more songs like this one. Take care and good luck with your future works!
