for her to be more than grateful for all her blessings.
Sylvester McLeod was enjoying the performance the neophytes were putting on. His smile faltered as he scanned the crowd. Could his eyes be playing tricks on him? He jumped down from the platform and started through the crowd toward the mystery woman.
"Look who's coming our way, Zade," Maya pointed Sly out in the crowd.
"Do I look okay?" Zade started fussing with her clothes and hair.
"You look fine. Stop it." April gave her best friend a knowing look. Just like she had been mismatched with Grant, April knew Zade was with the wrong frat president. Sly calmed Zade down, and Zade helped pull Mr. TNT out of his serious shell.
"I don't believe it. You sure are an amazing sight to see. Sly whispered as he kissed Zade's hand. "How are you?"
"I'm good," Zade pulled her hand away from him, and stepped closer to him. "I, of course, prefer a hug from you. The hand kissing stage was past by us a long time ago." She wrapped her arms around him as he pulled her close.
"It's been a long time, Zade."
"You're right Sly. It has been too long."
"But obviously not long enough." There was no disguising the indignation in Zeke's voice. "Shouldn't you be up on the stage with the rest of your frat, Sly?"
"I felt the rest of the school should know who the new names and faces of Theta Nu Theta's step team are first," Sly released Zade, and faced his rival. On more than one front, they had been in compe-tition. Zade was just the most valuable prize.
"Everyone knows that we would've won if it hadn't been for y'all having DJ. We're still the better talent and better team."
"Look, you could've had DJ. You had your chance. It looks like he wanted more than just connec-tions. As for Zade,” Sly looks her way, "We're just two old friends happy to see each other."
"Is that right?" Zeke turned a cold eye to his fiancée.
"Yeah, Baby." Zade walked over to Zeke and wrapped her arms around his waist. Looking up into his eyes, she tried to reassure him. "We're just friends. I thought I wasn't supposed to see you for at least a-nother hour."
"I found some free time." Zeke kissed her cheek. "Are you up for some fun with the wolves' Sweet-heart Barbeque?"
"I thought we were going up to that new restaurant? Just you and me." Zade couldn't grab the look of disappointment from clouding her face before Zeke caught it.
"If you don't want to go, just say so." Zeke released Zade and stepped back. "It's your choice. But you're going to have to get used to this, if we're going to get married." He stuffed his hands into his pockets and began to head over to a group of Mu Gammas waiting on him. "Oh, and if you need me, hit me up on the cell." He called back to her over his shoulder.
Zade used every ounce of strength she had not to break down in the midst of everyone. She almost lost her composure when she felt the gentle touch of April and Maya by her side.
"Come on, girl. I think there are some people who would like to see you." April guided Zade over to the majority of their line sisters, and they enveloped her with love and hugs.
Sly shook his head as he returned to the stage. Even after a year of not having her in his life, he still felt that tug Zade always caused on his heart every time she was near him or in his view. There was no mistaking the feelings he had for her.
"I see your soul mate is back," Bambino joked with Sly. "Come on, Sylvester. Anyone who knows the two of you knows that you two belong together. Zeke even knows that it's only a matter of time, before he loses her to you again."
"He didn't lose her to me. He lost her to cancer and his lack of support during that rough time in her life."
"And you just happened to be her knight in shining armor with nothing but support right?" Bambino wished his line brother would stop trying to deny his feelings for

Good job! I haven't seen this movie since it was out in theaters but I'm wondering if any of the original people from that are in this or mentioned? DJ sounds familiar, but anyway...that's all besides the point (lol). This was really well-written for the most part. All I noticed were a few instances of tense confusion. Some present-tense parts sneaked in with the past-tense, which a majority of the story is written in.
Where it says "the company he's been keeping" it should read "the company he'd been keeping" or "the company he had been keeping"...whichever you prefer. You got a lot of background information in one chapter without bogging it down, which is good. It was really easy to read through. The only problem I slightly had was keeping the characters straight, since some of them are mentioned but not seen and names are similar (Zeke and Zade-I love the latter name btw). But it wasn't a big deal. Your introductions were very natural, not forced like some authors' are when they're attempting to introduce a majority of their characters in one chapter.
I really like the bolded phrase-it speaks a lot about the history between Zeke and Sly without saying too much. The quote kind of confused me though, did you mean: "I felt the rest of the school should know who the new names and faces stepping are" or "I felt the rest of the school should know who the new names and faces of -insert frat's name here- are." The way it's written now doesn't make sense. And the last thing I noticed was that you have some words hyphenated that aren't supposed to be. I don't know if this was a formatting problem or you just didn't notice, but for example:
I just thought I would point that out since there's a few times that occurs. But I wasn't sure if there was a reason for this? Anyway, aside from those few minor mistakes, everything else looks good. It held my interest and I would definitely be interested in seeing where the plot goes from here.
I love those last two sentences. They really wrap up the chapter nicely and I like how they relate back to Zade's soror name. The connection is really natural and it works well. Overall, good job. I hope I helped.
