Sylvester McLeod. That was all Zade could think about. Even while enjoying the company of her sorority sisters, he kept popping back into her mind whenever she had a quiet moment.

"What's wrong, Chica?" April slid into the chair facing Zade. "Something's troubling you."

"It's more someone. I just don't understand why Zeke reacts the way he does about Sylvester. If I was hugging Rich or Noel or any other man on campus, he wouldn't even flinch. But as soon as Sly breathes in my direction, he acts as if we've been screwing behind his back."

"It's because he knows his time with you is short and that you really belong with Sylvester." May leaned over the balcony above Zade. “All those who know the two of you realize that you and Sly are a better fit."

"Of course, Zeke is forgetting that he more he acts this way, the farther he's pushing you away."

"Exactly Zeke isn't a stupid man. Doesn't he realize what he's doing?"

"Realizing isn't the problem." Ivory pointed out. "I was wondering when you two hooked back up."

"This summer. Both our families, coincidentally, where vacationing in P.R. It was weird, but it was like I was getting the old Zeke back. Then we got back in the states, and Zeke changed back into Zeus."

"It's like hooking back up with you coincides with the Mu Gammas losing the step championship." Ivory paused. Ivory LeBel was the sweetest line sister Zade could remember. The girl always looked out for her line sisters no matter what it cost her. 'Sugar' was the right name for her, and she was glad to know that this sweet woman had found an equally sweet mate in Noel. "I wonder if I'm right with my assumptions."

"What are you thinking, Detective LeBel?" Ivory smiled at Zade and she smiled back. "You think Zeke came over to Puerto Rico just to woo me and proposed just to get back at Sly?"

"Not necessarily get back at him. But right now, he's grasping for straws; anything to make himself look better for who knows who. You were the one he couldn't change. He's trying to keep the last thing in his mind would give him the upper hand over Sylvester."

"I'm glad that you plan on being a detective. How does Noel feel about your future career?"

"Noel worries that it could harden me, but he's supportive. I don't know why I didn't notice him before he became a Theta. But he's got that teddy bear quality that keeps me smiling…that and other talents."

"Uh huh. Now when did the conversation turn into a love fest?" April inquired.

"When Zade asked Ivory about her love life." Maya grinned.

April looked at her watch. "Speaking of love lives, I have to meet up with DJ."

"When am I going to meet this new man of yours?" Zade questioned.

"You will probably meet him today. He’s around her somewhere.” April began looking around.

“You are coming with us on our trip right?” Zade gave Maya a puzzled look. “Were you not listening when we told you about it?”

“Sorry, my mind was distracted.”

“Whatever, you’re coming and that’s the end of it.” And don’t bring Zeke with you, Maya thought to herself. "It’s going to be a blast."

"It's a Pi Delta Mu and Theta Nu Theta get-a-way up to the mountains. Couples are supposed to be the only ones going, but it became more of a big operation than a romantic vacation."

"Maybe I shouldn't go then."

"The Mu Gammas are going to be out of town that weekend. No use you staying here without your girlfriends to keep you company. Besides, most of the sorors are going with their respective guy. I know you don't want to spend a weekend with Zeke and Grant…" Ivory knew that her last sentence would seal the deal.

And she was right. Zade gave her a scowl, and responded, "Say no more. You had me at Grant. How much do I have to pitch in?"

A young man that Zade had never seen before answered for her girls. "You are already covered…that is if you are the famous Zade I keep hearing about." DJ wrapped his arms around April, and kissed her neck. "Did I guess right?"

"Yes you did. You must be DJ." Zade stretched out her hand for DJ to shake. He turned it, and kissed the back of it.
