"Because I was being selfish. I didn’t want her to steal you away," April teased back with a kiss.

"You don't have to worry about that," Zade couldn't help staring at Sylvester. "My eyes are on one man and one man only." Before she could stop herself, she stood up and found herself walking toward him.

Bambino caught his cousin right before Sylvester caught her eye. "Zade, where do you think you're going before you give your cousin a hug?"

Snapping out of what seemed like a trance, Zade faced her cousin. "I was going in the direction of an embarrassing and crazy situation." Zade whispered. She gave one last glance in Sylvester’s way, and then looked up at Bambino. "Thank you for pulling me back to my senses. How is my favorite cousin on campus?"

"I'm your only cousin on campus, Zade."

"That narrows down the competition for my favorite now doesn't it?" Zade smiled at her older cousin. Bambino was the official person to introduce Sylvester and Zade. That meeting flipped Zade's world upside down. After so many close calls, she knew her love for Zeke would never be the same.

"I have one question for you Z. Why are you going through with this whole marriage thing? You know Zeke ain't the one for you."

"Ximen why do you have to go there?"

"Because I don't want you to make the mistake of your life. I want you to be happy, and while Zeke can do that, it's a rarity." Zade looked down. She knew he was right. "You can wear that smile on your face, but I know that you're dying in here." Bambino touched her chest where her heart is. "And I'll be damned if I'm going to stand by and let Grant and the other Mu Gammas kill that spirit of yours. Jakim, Maurice, and Damon like you and would look out for you. Unfortunately Zeke doesn't keep them as close as he does Grant."

"Grant and Zeke will be graduating this year. Grant's probably going back up to New York so things should change."

"I don't know about that. Look…it's your decision. I just want you to think about it before you put everything in stone." He gave his cousin a hug. "Just think about it Z."

“I am and I will continue thinking about it. Are you going to the get-a-way this weekend?”

“I don’t have a choice. Quianna would kill me if I said no.” Bambino was referring to Zade’s sorority sister. “Princess” as she was known to the sorors was in the line before Zade and her line. Quianna made it tough for the girls when they’re turn came, but she was always in their corner.

“What about Sylvester?” Zade already knew the answer, but wanted to hear it to be sure.

Her cousin gave her a look. “Are you going?” Zade nodded. “Then he’s going.”

“I don’t want him to go because of me.” Zade began to rethink her acceptance of the invite.

“He’ll go to make sure you have a good time. Plus, he’s trying to help Maya hook Rich. You know he fronts on being a player. But he gets all quiet around her.”

“Maya has been crushing on Rich for some time. But she’s smart. She didn’t let him hit it without a commitment.”

“And because of that, Rich can’t seem to figure out why he can’t move on from her.”

“We’ll see what happens on this trip, won’t we?”

“Yes we will. We sure will.” Bambino felt that the relationship between Rich and Maya wasn’t the only relationship to change.
