but I --"
"Inject me with it, in the biceps." Lucian tapped his left arm with his right hand. "And finish getting me strapped in."
Savoy sighed and complied with both orders. He then went back over to the generator. "Are you ready?"
Lucian grunted primally and then screamed as the power rushed through his body.
Jonas woke up with two faces looking over him. Savoy was one, his bulging eyes clouded with worry. The second was his wife, Ettie. Confused, he tried to sit up. Ettie put a restraining hand on his collarbone.
"Stop it, you fool, you've had an accident."
He looked around the room and was shock to see that he was in his bedroom. "How, how did I get here?"
Savoy tapped himself on the chest. "I brought you here, Mr. DeYarrick. You weren't fit to come by yourself on account of your heart stopping."
"Dr. Savoy shocked you with electricity to get it restarted," said Ettie.
Lucian opened his mouth to speak, but was hit by a wave of nausea. He leaned over the side of the bed and grabbed at the wastepaper basket that he kept there. A steady flow of bile and tea gushed from his mouth as he wretched painfully. When he finished, Ettie wiped his mouth with a moist towel. He smiled at her weakly. They may not be the most romantic couple, but she did have a caring heart.
"Thank you, my dear. Now, could I speak to Dr. Savoy alone for a moment?"
She looked at him with an expression he was too tired to decipher, but complied. As soon as the door closed, Lucian looked at Savoy.
"A doctor, eh?"
"Just a white lie, she wouldn't really believe what we do, now would she?"
Lucian grimaced. "Probably not."
"I just said that I was walking home when I saw you in a fight with a dynamo thug. Another dynamo helped me restart your heart, and I found a business card in your pocket. She thinks I brought you here by cab."
Savoy stood up and walked over to the door. "Take a few weeks holiday, Mr. DeYarrick. You're not going to be in any condition to continue our experiments for quite a while. It be best for all if you rested before you come back to my laboratory."
Lucian, too drained to argue, merely nodded. Savoy opened the door and left the room. Lucian could hear the little man talking to his wife, probably telling her that she should call his regular physician. He ignored them, though, as sleep reclaimed him.

It seemed like you stopped midsentence here, or you deleted a sentence but not all the way.
You already used the word 'mess' in the previous sentence. To avoid repetition, maybe it would be a good idea to replace it with something a little more colorful.
I think you mixed up some names here.
If Savoy is a scientist, then he is most likely a doctor in some degree or another. Perhaps it would be best to stick with the title of Dr. It gives him a little more credability.
This chapter was shorter that the other, and there wasn't much wrong with it. Another great chapter. This Lucian character seems quite determind to get his results. Recklessly so. I can't wait to see how all of this is going to tie together. I also like the way you combine the eras. They have technology, but still use horse-drawn carrages. Its an interesting touch. Looking forward to the next chapter.
