I just saw a thumbnail of your picture and thought, "That looks like a Tommy shirt. Is he wearing a Tommy shirt? Hey! He IS wearing a Tommy shirt!"
Sorry...I have the same one. Very cool

thank you so much for your comments on my work. I like to add a kick of feminism, but I agree that "male chauvinist pigs" is cliche. I will try to change that up a bit. thanks again. -Kayla Brady
Thank you for becoming my first fan!
hey, josiah--

Congratulations to you!
Nice work in the poetry contest!
just stumbleupon-ed this: http://www.key-z.com/dippedart.html
Thanks for your comments on Twilight, I'll be sure to look into those details whenever I get the chance to revise it (2018)
Yeah, I posted the bare-bones on bad day... I'll revise it this weekend.
Cool, glad you enjoyed it. I never considered Flowers for Algernon to be science fiction. Weird that it's considered that, though I suppose it makes some sense.
hi there!
thanks so much for your kind comment on my poem. I am so glad you liked it.

So far as 2nd person fiction goes, I like Italo Calvino's "If on a Winter Night a Traveler". I'll check into the one you recommended at work tomorrow. (one of the benefits of working in a library. I have like 12 books checked out by now...)
Have you ever read a novel called "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" (by one Mark Haddon)? I think you might enjoy it. It was written from the point of view of a severely autistic child. Interesting and amusing stuff.
haha, I'm not sure I could actually write that much about him. Although I suppose it's just a matter of finding normal situations in strange contexts and putting him to work.
No problemo
Glad to be of help
Sure, just edit your works so that one is tagged with the contest tag and the other isn't. You have until the deadline to tag whichever work you like.
Thank you very much Josiah, much, much appreciated!
BTW, you are also my very first "Scratchpadian" (or "Scratchpadist"
and THAT shall never be forgotten on this Land called "my Profile" (can you hear the drums and the trumpets too? no? mmm... should I see a doctor?)
Anyway, I'm getting ready to post my first piece. I look forward to your critique Josiah.

Don't worry about it; no offense taken. And since you are right about the concept being old and overused, your critique was constructive in helping me decide that it is best to put it on hold for now, and turn to other ideas that have been sitting on my desk for ages.
Chuck Palahniuk wrote 'Fight Club'. My favorite by him is 'Choke', but be careful if you are reading it in public. The spontaneous bouts of laughter could cause strangers to think you a bit deranged. Another good book of his is 'Rant: The Diary of Buster Casey'. I hope you like them.
Red vs. Blue is more a satire of the extreme way that politics can take. As long as I can remember, I've seen attack ads and personal statements against the candidates and so on, and they've gottne worse over the years (or my view has gotten more indepth). RvB is my vision of what it would be like if elections were not just attack ads, but actual attacks. Thanks for reading, though.
Haha, that's an excellent idea! Unfortunately you've caught me on one of my (relatively few) non-humorous pieces. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback!
I'm glad my critique of Nicotine Cat was helpful! And I promise, there will be more Dead Lovin'!
You know, I wasn't sure of it at first, but now I have to say that you really are a fantastic writer. I know coming from me that might not mean much at all ("Who the hell is this person? Am I supposed to be flattered?"
but.. that's society for you. Or not... Anyhow, just dropped by to say that.
Thanks for the critique. I've read the book and dig it. Rest up and let's debate - written debate is fun as hell!
That, and I'm frankly better at critiquing prose than poetry. Donno why...
Thanks for your comments about my story. I appreciate you taking the time to read.
First, I absolutely love your pic.
Second, THANK YOU for your critique on IC! I was originally gonna rework the beginning to make it flow better, but then Scribophile put it up for review before I was done! I'll defintely take your notes into consideration - and I agree, adding that confused/pleasured look to Brian's face would be priceless! Gonna work that in!

Thanks for your critique! I think those are pretty good points. There's a lot of holes in the story, indeed.
LOL! LOVED your comment on how to destroy a microwave.
Hey Josiah,
Thanks for the kind comments, and I guarantee no cheese here. Keep up the great writing, and welcome!

Thank you for the comment on my poem ^-^!
Josiah,
Your critique could be a work in and of itself.
Forever artful is a good thing.

Thanks for the critique! I'd like to propose a third category of writing - soul poetry. I'm going to comment the piece with a more "resonant" explanation of the work - you make valid points in a valid context - I'll give you mine and we can see what we can come up with
. Thanks again for the critique! I look forward to reading more of your work (which is at present, and thus far, unassailable).
Warmest,
