Small Changes and an Award!

Read on for details on some small changes we’re going to be introducing soon, an award we’ve just been honored with, and a cute picture of a kitty!

Tweaks And Changes

We’ve been busy in the background improving the performance and tweaking things here and there. Some of you may have noticed that we’ve changed the “Articles” link at the top of the site to “Blog.” That’s because (as you can probably guess) we want to shift the focus off of writing concrete “articles” to shorter, more fluid “blog posts.” This means we’ll be posting shorter but more frequent posts with a bigger emphasis on writing happenings online. We hope you’ll like the change!

We’re also going to be changing the layout of the front page slightly to emphasize this shift in focus. We’re not 100% sure what the new front page will look like, but it’ll probably be pretty similar to the current one, but with more emphasis on the stuff you want to see: community information, recent happenings, and the review queue. You can expect this new layout to roll out soon.

We’ve Won An Award!

We’re also really excited to announce that Preditors & Editors, a super-handy compendium of writing sites and information, has honored us with the Truly Useful Site Award for May 2008. Thanks so much to everyone at Preditors & Editors!
