Focuses almost exclusively on Nabokov's life before he hit 25.  Kind of interesting, but there's almost no insight into his thought process while writing, nor are there any good stories about his books.  Also, his prose gets extremely flowery and starts to wear after a little while.  Nabokov's prose is rich to begin with, but this book takes it a little too far if you ask me.  If you like reading about how a little kid grew up in Russia, then this is the book to read!
