The Epic Winners of the Epic Poetry Contest
We’ve got to hand it to those of you who entered the Epic Poetry Contest: you’ve accomplished something just by finishing. This was a hard one to complete, with some stringent rules to follow and requiring some serious vocabulary and imagination. We want to give you all a big hand for entering. And that’s not even mentioning how good all of the entries were—we’re really impressed!
Join us in congratulating the winners of the Epic Poetry Contest on their scratchpads. Well done, all!
3rd place, warm fuzzies: The Epic Formerly Known As The Great Porn Heist – A Lesson In Applied Holistic Economics, by Jon Shrike
Jon’s work takes a lighthearted approach to the often-serious epic form. His tale of youthful hijinks kept us laughing all the way to the end.
Announcing the Computer Love Contest
One contest ends, another takes its place, and the world keeps turning here at Scribophile. We’re happy to announce our latest writing contest, the Computer Love contest. It’s something that we hope will make all you sci-fi geeks (like us) excited to write.
The premise is simple: write a science fiction short story featuring the theme “computer love.” Include some kind of machine (a robot, a computer, a spaceship, or whatever you like), include that warm fuzzy thing called love, and make it a damn good read!
First place wins a $100 Amazon.com gift card, and second place wins a $50 Amazon.com gift card. Read all about it here, and good luck!
