January Flash Fiction Contest Winners
We’ve finally finished reading all of the fantastic entries for our January Flash Fiction contest. We were happy to have a huge amount of entries for this contest, and even happier that all of them were of such high quality!
There were a few entries that we had to sadly disqualify because they didn’t follow the length rules. Please, people, read the rules before submitting your entry—we hate having to disqualify otherwise fantastic work!
And now, on to the winners:
1st place, $50 Amazon.com gift card: I Used To Bring You Here, by Joshua Burgess
A poignant peace, beautifully rendered, that left us heartbroken. You know you’re good when you can pack that much emotion into just 1000 words!
2nd place, $25 Amazon.com gift card: The Siege, by Jon Shrike
Jon’s incredibly imaginative piece made us feel like we were watching the beginning of a great science fiction film. Quick dialog and vivid description really make this one stand out.
Join us in congratulating the winners, and thanks to everyone who entered!
