Group-Sponsored Crime Without Guns Contest
|Deadline:||Oct 10, 2015|
The Scrib UK Group is running a short story contest on the subject of ‘Crime without guns’. Any type of crime is allowed and there is no restriction on setting, or historical period, but mention of guns is prohibited, and will lead to disqualification. Originality is encouraged, but bear in mind you still need to keep the judges hooked on your story right up to its climax.
If your story contains sex and/or violence, remember to use the adult tag. Extreme gore isn’t encouraged.
The group has been extremely generous with its karma donations, and the prizes are mouth-watering.
Winners have been announced! Log in to see them.
|1st prize:||100 karma points|
|2nd prize:||50 karma points|
|3rd prize:||35 karma points|
Entries must be no more than 2,000 words per Scribophile's count. There is no minimum restriction, so writers of flash fiction are welcome to enter.
Only one entry per person is allowed; multiple entries will be disqualified.
Novel chapters are not allowed. Your story must be complete.
If you have already placed your work in a previous contest, you may not resubmit it to this one.
Your work must have Public visibility on Scribophile until a winner is announced.
To enter the contest, post your work on Scribophile and check the box that says "Enter this work into the Group-Sponsored Crime Without Guns Contest." Your work will automatically be considered.
The checkbox will be visible until the contest deadline.
Entry is free, but you'll need karma to post your work. You can earn karma by writing critiques of work by other members.
Entries will be read anonymously. Names will be removed and replaced with an entry number. Winners will be selected by a panel of volunteer judges.
