Group-Sponsored Happy Father’s Day! Horror Contest

Details

Deadline:Jun 14, 2021
Fee:Free

The First Three Sentences group invites you to show us your horror stories for Father’s Day. We aren't saying fathers are scary, just that dads are more likely than moms to appreciate a good horror story on their day off. So let’s scare the socks off Dad!

Write a story of up to 500 words using that photo you see in the upper left hand corner as a prompt. You can do whatever you want with the prompt—the story you come up with is all yours. No adult labels or gratuitous gore, please. Just make the hairs on the back of Dad’s neck stand up.

The First Three Sentences group is all about great beginnings. But don’t worry about that now, we want to see an entire story up to 500 words. If you try to impress us with a drabble, make sure they are EXACTLY 100 words not including the title, and let us know you intend for it to be a drabble.

Now, Boo! Get writing.

Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
