Your pen name is how you’ll be known around Scribophile. We suggest using your real name or the name you plan to publish under, but you can make a different one up if you want. Pick wisely, because you can’t change it once you’ve signed up.
Your pen name must sound like a complete real name and must be capitalized correctly. If you like, you can use initials for your first name(s).
We review pen names daily and if yours doesn’t meet these requirements, your account will be immediately closed.
Examples of unacceptable pen names include: The Writing Guy. Oliver Twist. SARA SMITH. Mistress Dragonbane. Perennial Publishing. Wild Flower. Phil Paragraph. Crystal Starstrider.
Need inspiration? Try: Susan Simmons, Alex Horne, Heather Brown, Jonathan King, Susan Archer, Dan Parker, Shelley Thomas, Timothy Mercer, Sarah Harris, or Nathan King.
