Flash 500 Second Person Challenge
Details
Deadline: | Jul 28, 2012 |
Fee: | Free |
You can’t always work alone. It’s just not possible. You can try and hermit yourself away, but there comes a point when you can’t write alone anymore. Anxiety takes over; who will you work with? Who do you trust enough to collaborate with? Will anyone want to work with you? Can you actually win by working as a pair?
That’s precisely what I want to know. This Flash 500 challenge is all about the second person. Not only are you going to work with another Scribophile member on this, but you’re also going to write in the second person. “But Cassidy!” you cry, “How is this going to work?” Fear not, I have a couple suggestions:
- One writer in the pair will post the work, but the cost will be split. Decide who gets to post it, and then whoever isn’t posting it can send the other 2.5 karma.
- Put in the description (not in the piece itself, I don’t want to know who wrote what) who was the co-author of the piece.
Because 500 words is hard enough with one writer, I’m giving you up to 1000 words for this challenge. Our last Flash 500 winner, CLSteele was gracious enough to donate the prize to this contest, so the winning pair will receive $15 each.
Theme: Finding a door you didn’t know was there before.

Sharing what you've learned makes these mini-contests better for everybody: although we don't require it, we'd appreciate it if you come weigh in on the group discussion thread here.
Only one entry per pair, please. Multiple entries will all be disqualified.
Work must have Public visibility on Scribophile until a winner is announced.
Winners must have a valid PayPal account or we won't be able to send the prize money!
Submission guidelines
To enter the contest, post your work on Scribophile and check the box that says "Enter this work into the F5 Second Person contest". The system will automatically enter your work. You can see this checkbox until the contest deadline, given in UTC time.
We don't charge anyone to enter, but you'll need karma points to post your work. You can earn karma points by writing critiques of work by other members.
