Group-Sponsored 6th Annual Happy Father’s Day Horror Contest

Details

Deadline:June 15 (44 days left)
Fee:Free

The First Three Sentences group invites you to show us your horror stories for Father’s Day 2026. All members of the group are judges. Winners will be announced on June 21, 2026 which is Father’s Day.

Write a story up to 1,000 words using that photo you see in the upper left hand corner as a prompt. The photo is for inspiration only, all of the elements in the photo do not have to be included but don’t leave us scratching our heads wondering if you ever saw the photo.

Stories should be traditional horror as opposed to a story about a horrible situation. The plot should include a character that is a father but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the main character. The actual day, Father’s Day, does not have to be the theme of your entry. Just make the hairs on the back of Dad’s neck stand up if he’s enjoying your story on his day off.

Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
