Group-Sponsored Back to the 80s Contest

Details

Deadline:March 15 (30 days left)
Fee:Free

Are you missing your ill spent youth? Those days when you were oblivious to a future filled with email, social media, and the internet? But still tantalizingly connected to a burgeoning society on the cusp of globalization? We want your stories! Write an original fiction story (no more than 2,000 words, preferably over 500 words) set in the 1980s or that evoke the ambiance of the 1980s as you remember them (or someone you know remembers them). Bonus points for magical realism, science fiction, or science fantasy elements, but these aren’t required. No depressing stories, please. Our judges will rank entries on the following: readability, nostalgia-inducing, high five-worthiness 🙌🏽, good vibes, and recognizable Gen X references.

Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
