Group-Sponsored Diverse Mythologies Contest

Details

Deadline:June 30 (46 days left)
Fee:Free

Greek, Roman, Norse and Celtic mythologies have long provided rich material for fantasy writers, but there’s a whole big world out there. So Diverse Futures’s assignment to you for this contest is to write a fantasy story inspired by a non-European mythology.

It might be something from Africa, the Americas, Asia, or Australia. It can be either loosely or strictly inspired, but do your research, and be respectful—don’t just dig up your old story about fairies and hobbits and rename them as “kitsune” and “ogbanjes.” Really immerse yourself in a non-European mythos, and then bring us, the readers, into a new world and perspective.

Judges for this contest will be Marc Quill and Neil Sharma.

Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
