Write a story of 2,500 words or less.
Your story should have at least one strong female protagonist, preferably as main character. It should illustrate one or more of the following four categories: courage, wit, poverty, escape.
All sub-genres are welcome, including poems. Novel chapters are allowed if they can stand alone as one complete story and fit in one of the four categories, with at least one leading female character. If your story has sex and/or violence, please remember to use the adult tag.
Your work must have public visibility on Scribophile until the winners are announced (January 13th, 2017).
If your work has already placed in a previous contest, you may not resubmit it to this one.
Only one entry per person is allowed; multiple entries will be disqualified.

Entry is free, but you'll need karma points to post your work. You can earn karma points by writing critiques of work by other members.
