Calling all comedians and comedian wannabe's! We crave your hilarious short stories. Rib-tickling, rolling-on-the-floor, sidesplitting tales! Make us chortle and giggle and roar with laughter until we can't take anymore. Your stories can be any theme or genre as long as they give us a laugh. The more we laugh the more brownie points you get!

1st prize:1 year Premium membership upgrade or 30 karma points (winner picks)
2nd prize:20 karma points
3rd prize:10 karma points

Rules

  • Entries must be received before midnight Friday, June 5th (UTC time) and the winners will be announced on or before June 19th.

  • Entries must be no more than 2,500 word per Scribophile’s count.

  • Multiple entries are not allowed.

  • Work must have public visibility on Scribophile until winners are announced.

  • Entries cannot have won a previous contest.

Submission guidelines

  • To enter the contest, post your work on Scribophile and check the box that says "Enter this work into the Group-Sponsored Tickle My Funnybone Contest." Your work will automatically be considered.

  • The checkbox will be visible until the contest deadline, which is in UTC time.

  • Entry is free, but you'll need karma points to post your work. You can earn karma points by writing critiques of work by other members.

Anton Chekhov wanted to call his first volume of stories “Buy This Book or I’ll Smash Your Face In.” It was published in 1886 as as Motley Tales.
