The name says it all: I want stories that make me feel good!

Ever notice how on your daily news shows, no matter what kind of horrific stories they have covered that day, they seem to always end with some “feel good” news segment? That's because those kinds of stories are the ones that keep us going even when everything around us feels bad.

I realize “good” is subjective and can mean something different for each person, so I'll clarify: I want to feel happy, inspired, satisfied, euphoric. I want to read stories that make me walk around with a smile on my face. Your story doesn't necessarily have to have a “happily ever after,” nor does everything need to be coming up roses—and I’m not looking for purple prose. It's more like, when I'm finished with the story I want to feel … hopeful.

All genres are welcome!

Rules

• Entries must be no longer than 1,000 words per Scribophile’s count.

• Entries must be flash fiction. No novel chapters.

• Work submitted must not have placed in a site-wide contest previously.

• No previously published stories.

• Only one entry per member.

• Entries must have Public visibility on Scribophile until winners are announced.

• You may post your work, receive critiques, and edit until the deadline.

Submission guidelines

• Entry is free, but you’ll need karma points to post your work to the contest. You can earn karma points by writing critiques of posted writing.
