Member-Sponsored Liturgical Year Story Contest

Details

Deadline:Nov 19, 2016
Fee:Free

This story contest celebrates the Liturgical year. The Liturgical Calendar includes the Liturgical Seasons, Canonical Feast Days (Saints’ Days and Holy Days), and Ember Days. Stories submitted for this contest should treat themes of one or more of these seasons or days. A story may incorporate the theme as a focus or as a background. Your submission’s “About This Work” section should state what part of the Liturgical year is treated in your story (which season or seasons, or what day or days).

Submissions in various modes are encouraged. Stories may convey spiritual insights but should not be preachy.

Submissions will be judged on mechanics, diction, handling of story elements, treatment of the theme, and sensitivity to the sensibilities of readers who honor the liturgical life. Decisions of the head judge will be final.
