Member-Sponsored Second First Chapter Contest

Member-Sponsored Second First Chapter Contest

Details

Deadline:Mar 31, 2017
Fee:Free

The all important first chapter is where you show the world (at least a small part of it at this stage) why your novel must be read from cover to cover. The panel of three judges are looking for a strong opening, a glimpse of the setting, a vignette of the character(s), words that will immerse them into the story in such a way they will be begging for more.

It’s impossible to know the plot, so it’s mandatory that the voice will whisper promises that there is so much more to come. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are important enough it could prevent an otherwise good piece from qualifying for a final position.

Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
