Member-Sponsored St. Patrick’s Day Horror Flash Fiction Contest

Details

Deadline:Mar 10, 2023
Fee:Free

I’m looking for Flash Fiction stories up to 500 words that are in the horror genre with a St. Patrick’s Day Theme. I see flash fiction as a complete but short story with a journey arc and a twist ending (twist optional). The story you write, therefore, should have a beginning, middle, and end, but written in only 500 words or less. Use the photo you see in the upper left hand corner as a prompt, but a prompt is only what it is—the story you come up with is entirely your own sparked by the picture. I won’t necessarily be looking for any of the elements in the photo. But, I will be looking for creativity that the image sparks. How will you turn that picture into a horror story? I’m looking forward to seeing the creative outputs. Scribophile writers never disappoint and it’s always a fun ride.

Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
