Member-Sponsored The Dinner Party Contest
Tim and I would like to invite you all to ransack your brains, delve into the attics and basements of your imaginations, and excavate all you know about your favourite authors and invite them to a dinner party to share their lives, current circumstances or pithiest commentary with you, the author, in a story about an evening dining experience.
Your guests may be alive or dead, or both, and the story should be a short one, between 2,500 and 5,000 words long by Scribophile’s count. (Entries longer than 3,000 words must be posted in parts to respect Scribophile’s post length rules.) Judging will be on skill of writing and on enjoyment—be the stories comedic, tragic, or filled with longing or lust or simple truths. We want to feel as if we were there!
Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
