Member-Sponsored Unexpected Compassion Contest

Details

Deadline:Nov 16, 2022
Fee:Free

I’m looking for the unexpected, original twists, and full stories between two human people (not aliens, nor animals, etc.). Submissions should be original flash fiction pieces of between 500 and 1,000 words. While submissions may be of any genre, I’m looking for hopeful pieces. Stories can be on any subject except for religious ones.

Stories will be assessed based both on creativity, quality of writing, and story impact—Does it make you think? feel? Is there a beginning, middle, and end? The theme doesn’t have to be universal, it may be particular to the individuals involved, though that’s not require. It should answer how you view compassion. When are you impressed by it? What does it provide?

An Interesting Tidbit

Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick was so unpopular that it was essentially a lost work until 1930, when it was “rediscovered” by a scholar.
